If medical devices could talk, what would they say?

Canary Medical is a medical data company improving healthcare outcomes through the collection, analysis, and monetization of data derived from proprietary, “smart” implanted medical devices that self-report on function, diagnostic information, patient activity, side effects, and treatment failure.

The Vancouver founded company will reduce costs and improve health outcomes by orchestrating and enabling a complete medical data ecosystem with smart medical devices.

Because many medical devices remain “dumb metal,” Canary has developed a patented technology platform consisting of sensors, memory, battery, and transmission technology to integrate with existing implantable devices used to treat a wide range of clinical conditions.

The commercial launch for the FDA approved Canturio, the company’s lead product, was Q4 2021.

Canturio can be inserted into any medical device with dead space. Embedded sensors create 100% patient compliance over the life of the device (estimated to be 20 years). Data is accurate and reliable thereby enabling clinical decisions, patient rehabilitation and long term monitoring by both the patient and care team.

In addition to their proprietary sensors, Summatix is Canary Medical’s wholly owned data management subsidiary that aggregates, analyzes, and provides appropriate and relevant access to a patient’s medical data.
