The San Francisco based team has developed a conversational AI system for the screening and monitoring of disease progression of ALS, Parkinson’s, depression, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, and is working to expand into other neurological and psychiatric conditions including stroke/aphasia recovery.

The Modality interface, “Tina”, is akin to a virtual neurologist. By interacting with Tina, the conversational remote patient monitoring software captures speech, facial responses and dialog by using a standard webcam, microphone and a browser. Data is collected in response to prompts that mimic standard of care and disease specific tracking of metrics that point toward disease progression.
